Apps for education just got a whole lot easier: Apple introduces Volume Purchase Program |
Here’s how I helped convince Steve Jobs to make apps more for accessible for education.
In a recent blog post, we noted that schools are avoiding iPads because it’s a challenge to purchase and manage apps. Then just today, Apple announced the App Store Volume Purchase Program.
Coincidence? I think not (hee hee).
The new program lets schools purchase apps in volume for distribution to their students and faculty, as well as offer special pricing on volume purchases.
While it still doesn’t address app management issues (got that, Steve?!), this is a big step in the right direction for educators.
