Random House and the Dr. Seuss Estate

We created an HTML5, mobile-friendly destination from the legacy Seussville.com Flash website.

A modern framework for a timeless storyteller

How do you take a feature rich-site developed completely in Flash and duplicate the fun on devices for today’s on-the-go kids? You call the Bean Team. The Dr. Seuss Estate selected our studio because our mobile-first approach and serious HTML5 development chops lets us deliver the same level of animation and gaming across a full spectrum of devices.

Making mobile magic

Working from the original site’s look and feel, we adapted the brand and features for a responsive design to work across desktops, tablets and smartphones. Not only did we we recreate several Flash games as HTML5 versions, but we also created new mobile games starring the Cat in the Hat, Hop on Pop, Horton and the Grinch.

From there to here, from here to there, responsive games are everywhere.
Fishing with ABCs
You can't have a snazzy new mobile site without some super fun NEW GAMES! Fishin' for ABCs - based on the iconic Alphabet Book by Dr Seuss - combines the timeless "Seussian" illustration style with a kooky take on a letter matching game for pre-readers. Watch out for the tires!
Horton and the Kwuggerbug
To celebrate the publishing of "Horton and the Kwuggerbug and More Lost Stories," we created a new HTML5 game based on the title story. This adorable game targeting pre-schoolers focuses on sorting skills and sharing.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Take a frenetic journey down Mt Crumpet with the Grinch as you rush to deliver the toys to the Whos in Whoville. Earn points and collect tokens as you speed down the mountain to grow the Grinch's heart and save Christmas! This new game was launched in conjunction with Random House's "Grow Your Heart" holiday campaign.

Now kids can play them in the rain

And in the dark. And on a train. And in a car. And in a tree. They are so good, so good you see! As more and more children turn to mobile devices as their primary (and often, only) source of education and gaming, we make sure Dr. Seuss’ stories continue to break ground with an extensive mobile experience.
